FAQ

Is this tour only about Van Gogh?
Not at all. Van Gogh is a great connecting theme for Saint-Rémy and Arles, but I've balanced the itinerary so you get just as much Roman history and beautiful Provençal scenery.
Can we go inside the Roman monuments in Arles?
Yes, if you'd like to! We can adjust our time in Arles to include an interior visit, or we can focus on seeing more of the city from the outside.
How much walking is involved?
It's a moderate amount. There are short walks at every stop. You’ll need to be comfortable walking on uneven or slightly steep paths, especially at Les Baux-de-Provence and the Pont du Gard.
Is the Pont du Gard worth seeing after Arles?
Absolutely. Arles shows you urban Roman life, while the Pont du Gard is an engineering marvel set in nature. They provide two totally different perspectives on Roman history.
